When a window is open, the air purifier turns off.
This automation helps conserve energy and extend the lifespan of your air purifier’s filter by preventing it from operating when a window is open. 1. In the SmartThings app, open the Add device menu and follow the instructions to add your SmartThings Hub. 2. Similarly, go to the Add device menu again and follow the instructions to add your air purifier (Samsung devices > Air purifier) and door sensor (Partner devices > Aqara > Open/closed sensor). 3. Install the door sensors on the windows you want to monitor. It’s recommended to attach one part of the sensor first, then check the open/closed status in the app before attaching the second part in the appropriate position. (Typically, door sensors work by detecting the window as closed when the two parts are close together, and open when they are separated.) 4. Once the air purifier and sensors are set up, go to the Create routine menu in the app and configure the automation as shown in the screenshot. If you have the automation template saved as a QR code image, you can use the Import QR code option to upload it. Alternatively, you can scan the QR code directly using your smartphone camera to access and import the routine.
