When press the button located in the ktichen, the robot vacuum cleans the kitchen area.
Press the left button on the IKEA STYRBAR remote in the kitchen to start a Roborock routine that cleans only the kitchen area.
This automation is for people who often need a quick spot-clean in the kitchen after cooking. Instead of opening the app, selecting Zone Clean, and choosing modes every time, a single button press launches a preconfigured Kitchen routine in the Roborock app (zone = kitchen, with your preferred vacuum/mop modes).
Implementation details:
Remote: IKEA STYRBAR (left button). Paired to Home Assistant via Zigbee2MQTT; the trigger is the arrow_left_click action.
Robot Vacuum: Roborock S7 Max Ultra connected to Home Assistant with the Roborock integration. A routine/button entity (e.g., “Roborock Kitchen”) is exposed, and the automation calls Press Roborock Kitchen button to run the kitchen-only clean.
Flow: STYRBAR left-click → HA automation → invoke Roborock “Kitchen” routine → the robot cleans only the kitchen zone.
Benefits:
One-press spot cleaning where it’s needed most.
Consistent settings (vacuum/mop modes) without extra taps.
Works even when the rest of the home doesn’t need a full clean.
