When the store’s entrance door opens, the stand lamp in the kitchen turns red.
ffumz is a seasonal-vegetable restaurant in Mangwon-dong, Seoul, and we use several smart-home automations to run the shop.
Because we’re a small space typically operated by one or two people, it’s easy to miss customers entering while someone is working in the kitchen - especially during solo shifts.
To ensure prompt service, we configured an automation so that when the door sensor on the front entrance reports open, the Tapo smart bulb on the kitchen stand turns red.
The SmartThings Door Sensor can be added to the SmartThings Hub easily by scanning its QR code. The Tapo smart bulb supports Matter, so it can be enrolled directly in the SmartThings app as well.
Thanks to this automation, customers aren’t left waiting at the counter without being noticed.
